Mayor Daley is winning rave early reviews for his decision to replace one seasoned federal prosecutor with another as Chicago’s corruption-fighting inspector general.

Joe Ferguson — who prosecuted the husband of U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) and earned his stripes handling terrorism cases — replaces David Hoffman, who resigned in August to run for the U.S. Senate.
